Alexander Pioske is a Minnesota born artist currently living in Missouri and studying painting and art history at the Kansas City Art Institute.

When looking across his work to date, viewers see the byproducts of his life up to this point and the experiences that have shaped how he sees himself. The process within his studio takes from artifacts of these experiences- in the forms of writings by himself and the words of those around him- and turns them into a piece meant to be digested, though not always understood, by a larger audience. The slow, meditative act of embroidering into a surface gave him a way to contemplate these artifacts and move through emotions more easily than he could without. This becomes a diary for him, and a lens for others.
